This will make you laugh.

There is a good chance I lost what little was left of my mind. A few weeks ago, I signed up for junior moderator in omniacs.net (Greek forum for Samsung Omnia phones). Last week I was supposed to chat with the administrator for a crash course on my duties as general watchdog/hellhound but we haven't been able to get around to it yet. So I'm surfing around the forum, making vague, polite, semi-threatening comments to keep people in line, brandishing my new status as a weapon and peeing my panties laughing when they comply 'cause they think I know how to delete their posts or ban them! (OK, so I'm not that clueless as to not know how to delete/lock/freeze posts or threads, or warn/ban people without someone showing me; it's the etiquette, the when to do it.)

Thing is, even though currently I'm just fast-forwarding through sub-forums, I'm already behind on checking new posts! Like 5 whole pages in less than a day! How the hell will I keep up with the full load?! *headesks*

Also, it appears that I'm signing up for [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo this year. *squirms in seat* I've only joined the comm so far and I have yet to make my word count claim, but I'm pretty sure that it's a matter of days before I commit.

Firefox 1.0.4 has been released yesterday, containing two fixed critical security bugs in javascript. Go get the latest version now.

Cigars and single malt whiskey to Asteris for the heads up. =)

[livejournal.com profile] slymole has been bugging me since forever to try it and I remember [livejournal.com profile] astolat giving it a thumbs-up sometime ago. So I took a plunge and this weekend I installed Firefox. I'm never ever going back, IE is so ancient history for my system. I wish I could install it at work as well. ::sigh::
In other news, my trusted compy runs trillian once more, yey! ::jabs fist in air:: ICQ and Y!IM accounts mentioned in my profile will be online mostly on weekends. T'was about friggin' time. =)
It's heartwarming how my secret-love list is getting shorter and my friends list longer. ::grins and waves at new friends:: If I keep this up, by the end of the month I'll have the better part of SG slash fandom in my list. ::g:: I'll just have to work up the nerve to do it and pray they won't think I'm a serial adder... ::snort, giggle::
::yawn:: Bed. Now.

...and loving every minute of it! And I'm guessing it's because I've dragged [livejournal.com profile] slymole along for the ride. ::sniggers::
Poor thing, he came to Athens from Salonica for 4 days to see us and he left with more than he bargained for! Hell, everyone who was at Ostria that night, did! We agreed on helping resurrect SciFi.gr and he's been working on it for 2 weeks now. ::pets [livejournal.com profile] slymole and waters him with Glenfiddich::
So, for now there's the beta site, where everything new posted will be transfered to SciFi.gr as well when the time comes and there are the forums, where I just posted my first suggestion. ::bounces:: (you can't see it, it's on the admin side of the board) And I'm moderator on the Television board. ::bounces some more::
It's so good to have something so fulfilling in my life. Science fiction has been the air that I breathe for almost all my life and this is a hell of a chance to offer my contribution for the Greek scene. It's not that I can really spare the time at this point of my life --actually, none of us does-- with work and personal life stressing me, but it makes me feel... useful.
So we have a new project! php crash-course anyone? ::eg::
